Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY TICKET?
A. You should receive your ticket in approximately 3 – 4 weeks after the order is placed.
Q. IS MY TICKET PURCHASE TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
A. No, lottery tickets are not tax deductible.
Q. CAN I REQUEST A SPECIFIC TICKET NUMBER?
A. No. Ticket numbers are pre-assigned or consecutive and computer-generated.
Q. CAN SOMEONE WHO LIVES OUTSIDE BRITISH COLUMBIA OR OVERSEAS BUY A TICKET?
A. Yes, but the entire payment transaction must take place in British Columbia. Orders for tickets can not be accepted from, or processed for, person located outside the province at time of purchase.
Q. HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO PURCHASE A TICKET?
A. Purchasers must be at least 19 years of age. Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of a minor.
Q. WHY CAN’T I BUY MY TICKET ONLINE?
A. The current rules governing BC Charitable Lotteries prohibits the online sale of tickets. We are allowed to take your order online, but then we are required to contact you to complete your order by collecting your credit card information.
Q. WHAT IF I LOSE MY TICKET?
A. You do not need your ticket to claim your prize. Your name, address, and phone number is recorded in the database along with your ticket number. If you would like a replacement ticket, you can call 604-536-2105 or 1-888-536-2105 or email heroeslottery@knv.com.
Q. HOW CAN I BE SURE MY TICKET IS IN THE DRAW?
A. The professional services firm KNV Chartered Accountant LLP ensures that all paid tickets are in the draw.
Q. WHAT IS THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PRIZES?
A. There are 10,008 prizes.
Q. WHAT IS THE TOTAL PRIZE VALUE
A. Total prize value is $3,140,169.
Q. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO CLAIM MY PRIZE?
A. Prizes must be claimed within twelve (12) months of the Final Draw.
Q. WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANNOT PICK UP MY PRIZE IN PERSON?
A. If someone other than the winner is claiming the prize on the winner’s behalf, the winner must provide written and signed authorization along with the original prize winning letter.
Q. WHAT CONTROLS ARE IN PLACE FOR THE DRAW?
A. Winning tickets will be drawn under the supervision of the Firm of KNV Chartered Accountants LLP. Records of the Firm of KNV Chartered Accountants LLP shall be deemed correct if there is a discrepancy in numbers.
Q. HOW WILL I KNOW IF I’VE WON A PRIZE?
A. The primary ticket purchaser will be notified by phone and/or mail by KNV Chartered Accountants LLP as to what they have won and where/how to claim their prize(s).
Major prize winners will be published in The Province on August 10, 2008.

A. Lottery winnings are considered a windfall and not taxable in Canada.

Q. WHAT HAPPENS IF A BAD PAYMENT IS RECEIVED?
A. If your cheque is returned to us by the bank you will be contacted by KNV and given an opportunity to provide replacement payment within two business days. Any tickets issued will be considered invalid until replacement payment is received.
Q. WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF WINNING?
A. Chances are 1 in 207,275 (total tickets for sale) to win a grand prize. The odds of winning depend on the number of tickets sold. All inquiries, if any, on the odds of winning, are to be made to the licensee prior to the purchase of ticket(s).
